Kodak Vest Pocket.
I get to handle many cameras in the shop, frankly if I shot a test roll in every one that peaked my interest it would get boring. I probably get more than my fair share of Vest Pockets passing under my nose, many have little faults...or worse. All are in or around the 100 year mark so no surprise they creak or leak a bit. This one though was, I think, a cracker! Aside from a few tin marks the simple lens was bright and clean, shutter was snappy, it responded to all 4 shutter setting when asked, 25th-B-T-50th. Bellows are in excellent condition and the struts flex and lock out nicely. Just some light rubbing cosmetically lets it stand proud, if not tall, aside any camera.
With a film size of 127 they aren't the easiest to feed, stock is out there though, from expired to fresh, a couple of manufacturers still supply the market. As it happens I had a roll of HP, supplied under the name Maco Photo but produced by Ilford from standard HP5+ stock.
I set myself the challenge of 8 photos, taken on my walk from home to the shop. My only equipment was the camera and my smallest meter, both fitted in my coat pocket with ease. As can see from the 7 images, yes 7, I got one wrong by accidentally setting it to bulb, bit over exposed that one. There is lots of white dots, all I will say is, that is the film. Ilford seem to be having a few issues but we shall scuttle past that. Secondly you will notice a few wonky ones, I admit my eyes did struggle with the tiny bright finder, I am getting old. Aside from film and user issues the camera did itself proud. It isn't ideal for big wide open landscapes, it does best with a subject in front of it. It is going to bring someone lots of pleasure.
